My name is Dominique Oberhauser. I'm a French-Australian artist specialising in the art of illumination. I was born and grew up in France before migrating to Australia in 1989. I now live in the village of Richmond in Tasmania.

This website presents a selection of my artwork. I create small size paintings combining the use of 23 karat gold leaf, gouache and pigments.

All paintings are created individually with very fine detail, it takes between 20 to 30 hours of work to complete each one, they are mainly inspired from illuminated manuscripts, book of Hours, stained glass windows as well as personal designs.

All artwork is for sale. I currently have works in two galleries in Tasmania .The majority of original paintings displayed have been sold but similar designs can be painted on order.
